Global March for Lions March 15, 2014

I want to remind everyone... Global March for Lions is on March 15, 2014

The March for Lions is a protest against Canned hunting. For those unfamiliar with this so called 'sport', I will explain....

A canned hunt is a trophy hunt. They put a lion in a fenced area where he cannot escape and then he is hunted by hunters. The lions they use for these hunts are bred to be raised  and killed.  Some lions they obtain elsewhere but there fate is the same.

I will spare you all the photographs and videos I have seen on this subject but I encourage you to look because its the only way to assure that you won't look away because once you see this crap it does something inside you...it turns 'wishing it would stop' into 'doing something to make it stop'.

Now I know many of you will say that you just can't see that stuff and I do understand your point because it's awful. I also know that a lot of you will try to help without actually ever seeing anything. But for those who really never give this issue much thought at all, if ever, I encourage you to at least look before choosing not to see.

These cowards are killing our Lions just to say they killed a Lion, it makes me sick but more than that it makes me want to do something to stop it.

We are going to run out of Lions People. If we don't change these awful ways someday we will be talking about Lions and how they were. What a sad day that would be.
It doesn't have to be that way, WE have the power, lets educate, lets do something to stop this.

 Watching a canned hunt video today, I saw a lion get shot, now I have seen these before but this one felt different to me for some reason. Maybe it was the way he fell out of the tree after being shot or maybe it was the sound of him being shot, not of the gun but the sound the lion made. Yes, it's sad but I wasn't crying, it pissed me off and then it made me want to throw up. Sorry but that's the truth.  This stuff makes me worry about people because of the ignorance it takes to do this and there are a lot of them that do it  which makes me realize we have more uneducated  people walking around than I originally thought.  That doesn't mean anything good for us.

So, even if you don't actually March for the Lions on March 15, 2014, please do something.

People around the world are calling for the South African government to ban canned hunting - See more at:

Global March For Lions

Or you can write to them yourself:

Ask the SA government to ban lion farming and trophy hunting;
if in EU, lobby the European Commission to ban the import of trophies;
if in USA, write to US Fish and Wildlife calling on it to raise the status of lions to ‘endangered.’ That would stop the import of lion trophies there.

1000 Words

They say that the Egyptians have 50 words for sand.
And that the Eskimos have a 100 words for snow.
I wish I had 1000 words for love but all I can think of is how you move against me when you sleep and there aren't any words for that.
